Amid the flurry of Christmas preparations, why not consider taking some time out to observe the holiness of the season of Advent, a time of expectant waiting for the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Led by the Wellspring Community and Worth Abbey

3rd-5th December (2 nights)                                                                       Cost:  Waged: £120 pp         Unwaged: £70 pp

It is a Christian tradition to use the four weeks leading up to Christmas to prepare oneself for the celebration of Jesus’ birth. During this time, we look back at his first coming while longing for his second coming. Therefore, on this retreat we have an opportunity to start our preparations for the Advent season and make the best out of it, looking forward to the Christmas season. The weekend will include talks, small group discussions, opportunities for reflection and prayer. All this revolving around the rhythm of prayer of the Benedictine community of Worth Abbey.  Participants will also be able to enjoy the sanctuary of Worth Abbey, its Church and beautiful grounds, and the atmosphere of peace, quiet and stillness as well as time for building community and friendships.

This retreat is offered by The Open Cloister, Worth Abbey in collaboration with The Wellspring Community, Brighton.
